Welcome to Cedar’s Supportive Recovery Living. As one of the nation’s premier addiction recovery centres, we’re pleased to offer our continuum of care program in Surrey, designed to meet each individual’s unique needs. When someone leaves a treatment program, and doesn’t have a safe living environment to return to, our supportive living offers community, and life skills development. Whether you or someone you know is in need of a safe place to stay after treatment, our dedicated team would like to welcome you to the Acorn House and commend you for the courage it took to get you here.
Addiction comes in all forms—sometimes it’s caused by a chemical dependency/substance abuse disorder, or is a symptom of a broader issue. Other times addictions form over time like any bad habit and can be treated using behavioral modification. Whatever it is that brought you to this place in your life, we can provide a tailored recovery experience based on your individual needs.
Recovery is about more than merely getting help. It’s also about getting the right kind of help in the most effective way. This is what we aim to do for those we work with during their recovery journeys.
The Admissions Process
Congratulations, you’ve just made the first step toward achieving continued, long-term recovery! From the moment you give us a call, our admissions counselors will assist you with compassion and empathy through the application process—answering any questions you may have. Your information is confidential and used to provide you with the level of care that best suits your needs.
Since we offer individualized treatment plans, the first step will be to identify the level of care needed. To do this, we’ll start with an individual assessment. The initial evaluation will involve the person seeking admission, as well as the immediate family. There may also be circumstances which require other professionals holding personal or medical information be consulted to equip each person with the best, most effective care.
Once our admissions counselors have the information needed, they will create a customized plan designed to fit each patient’s individual needs. A typical recovery plan uses an integrative approach toward healing: the goal is to develop a healthy, balanced lifestyle. This holistic approach is designed to heal the mind, body, and spirit. Integrative treatment plans address issues such as sleep patterns, eating habits, physical activity, getting enough sunshine and vitamins, grounding, mindfulness, spirituality, social activity, and nurturing a sense of community and support. As our patient, you have an active role and voice in creating a treatment plan tailored for you.
Cedars’ is pleased to welcome you to our supportive recovery living program. We want you to feel comfortable, and respect this will be your home during these next stages of recovery. To help transition, we’ve created a pre-admission checklist highlighting items you should bring, as well as a list of things NOT to bring into the recovery house.
