We’d like to welcome you to Cedars at Cobble Hill, our primary recovery centre. Cedars at Cobble Hill is located near Victoria, on Vancouver Island, BC. Our detox and inpatient treatment centre offers an ideal environment with scenic views of the West Coast, and peaceful surroundings suited for recovery.
Our multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists, and competent medical personnel provide recovery support for those who are seeking:
- Detox services
- Recovery treatment
- Ongoing follow-up care
Each member of our medical staff has a unique set of skills which are used in collaborating as a team to provide comprehensive care and forming genuine connections with patients.
When a person decides to enter recovery treatment, there may still be substances in the system that must be flushed out. Withdrawing from drugs or alcohol is not always safe to do alone, and some instances require medical attention and monitoring. When a person wants to detox from a substance that causes dangerous or fatal withdrawal symptoms (such as opioids, benzodiazepines, or alcohol) we can help. We provide a safe and comfortable environment for detox with 24-hour medical monitoring.
Once detox is complete, we offer a unique inpatient treatment program designed to fit each person’s specific needs. We want our patients to be successful in achieving a full recovery, and so we plan each treatment program around each patient. The length of stay at our inpatient treatment centre is also unique to each patient. We want to ensure that enough time has been spent in treatment to impact change and that each person we treat has the best chance of staying sober once leaving our program. Some patients may be with us for 30 days, while others stay for 90. The average amount of time spent at our treatment centre is approximately 55 days.
As an integral component of our continuum of care, we provide a variety of follow-up programs for everyone who finishes treatment with us. Since we want everyone’s stay with us to be powerful and enduring, we offer a variety of continuing care options for our patients, depending on their needs. From follow-up outpatient treatment options to online check-ins, we do all we can to equip our patients with the support they need to stay on the path toward recovery once they leave us. Our Acorn House is a part of this continuum of care and designed to provide a safe, healthy environment for those who do not have an ideal home to return to for sustained sobriety.
Our Research Centre
As part of our commitment to provide our patients with the best care possible, we conduct ongoing recovery research here at our centre. Conducting research surrounding recovery allows us to gain profound insights into how to best help not only our patients, but the system of healing and recovery as a whole for those who seek it, as well as those who provide treatment. Led by our managing director, Carson McPherson, our research centre has published several works of peer-reviewed literature surrounding both the research and treatment we conduct at Cedars.
